Pritchett, Ball & Wise, Inc. (“PBW”) is interviewing for an experienced commercial appraiser position. We offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to gain/use appraisal and research skills to address complex valuation issues throughout Atlanta, all parts of Georgia, and occasionally in the surrounding region. Our clients include government agencies, private individuals/corporations, and attorneys - with a focus on quality over quantity. Applicants should be aware of the potential for providing testimony in deposition or court. MAI or Candidate for the MAI designation preferred but not required.
Our office is located in the Northlake/Tucker area of Atlanta; however, we encourage and provide remote access opportunities for appraisers/tasks requiring less oversight. We offer competitive/industry-standard compensation; payment of all state licensing fees; payment of Appraisal Institute dues, meetings, social events, and at least one Advanced Education class annually; matching 401K (3% match on up to 5% employee pre-tax contribution) available after one year of employment; and, mileage reimbursement at the Federal reimbursement rate. We also provide access to all pertinent databases/reports (i.e., Partnership Profiles, CoStar, Multi-List, QPublic, SiteToDoBusiness, Realty Rates, etc.); however, our focus is on primary/appraiser-collected and verified data. Our assignments rarely require overnight travel. We offer three weeks’ vacation time, excluding time required to attend Appraisal Institute classes/meetings.
Responsibilities include: Coordinating with research staff tasked with gathering generic property and market information; Compiling, researching, and verifying primary market data; and, Completing Appraisal Reports (to the prior "Self-Contained" and/or "Yellow-Book" compliant standards) using in-house Word/Excel templates, with oversight and final review from the firm’s principals. Experienced appraisers are paid a percentage of the total fee for work performed, using a graduated scale reflecting experience and the amount of oversight required. Fee-Split percentage increases over time, proportionate with decreasing oversight requirement. Additional percentage is available for oversight/training of new researchers/appraisers in the future, as well as from supplying self-generated assignments. Partnership opportunities exist for motivated and/or self-sustaining appraisers, after no fewer than four years of employment.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is committed, willing to learn, and eager to provide data/analysis for clients interested in receiving timely and reliable results. The ideal candidate would describe himself/herself as organized and methodical, curious and possessing the drive to investigate problems from all necessary angles, plus having the skill to clearly and concisely communicate research results. Please send inquiries in confidence to firstname.lastname@example.org
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: No explicit salary offered; Compensation is based on production and agreed-upon fee split percentage.
