Gordon Brothers has a tremendous opportunity to join a high performing team of seasoned professionals in our Commercial & Industrial division. The Director role is based in our Boston office located in the Back Bay and reports to Bob Maroney, President, Commercial & Industrial. This role is responsible for assisting clients in evaluating remarketing methods for various types of industrial assets, as well as for sourcing and working large equipment deals in categories such as construction, mining, oilfield and aviation. Additional responsibilities include the following:
Performs machinery and equipment analysis on equity deals for the division that may also include machinery and equipment as part of a multi-asset transaction
Analyzes machinery and equipment in order to establish valuation for inclusion in equity models
Sources machinery and equipment opportunities for the division through an established network of lenders, bankruptcy professionals, turnaround firms and machinery and equipment contacts
Building relationships with and marketing to all types of clients
Bachelors’ degree in business or equivalent experience
Ten or more years of machinery and equipment and/or valuation work focused on commercial and industrial equipment
Demonstrated ability to analyze commercial and industrial machinery and equipment by networking with professional contacts
Adept at reviewing existing machinery and equipment appraisals for transactions that would support equity positions in multi-asset deals
Strong drive for results, bias for action with superior analytical and time management skills
Proven strength in managing relationships to grow the business
Strong knowledge of all MS Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to visit company sites to inspect and analyze machinery and equipment in person. Will typically include overnight and occasionally some weekend travel.
Medium level of physical effort required including walking through large manufacturing/warehouse/storage sites, frequent travel and hands-on assessment of equipment
