The Town of Liberty, NY is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Sole Appointed Full-Time Assessor.
Strong compensation and benefits package:
Salary range: $45,000-$55,000 based on experience
Benefits: Paid time off, NYS retirement program, dental insurance, health insurance (NYSHIP)
Candidates must meet NYS Assessor requirements, should have excellent people skills, knowledge and experience in Real Property Tax Law and the assessment field, effective use of computers and software, familiarity and experience with RPSV4, valuation, deeds, sales, exemption administration, Certiorari, small claims and Board of Assessment Review proceedings, data collection, assessment roll preparation and administrative functions, as well as legal notices. Town of Liberty has approximately 6,300 parcels which include: commercial, residential, seasonal, agricultural, forest and lakefront.
State Certification preferred- minimum five (5) years' experience required. You must attain certification as a State Certified Assessor within 3 years beginning the initial term of office.
