This is a remote staff position for an experienced Residential Appraisal Manager to fill a full-time role at MountainSeed. The scope of work consists of leading and managing a team of Residential Review Appraisers and ensuring their timely and accurate delivery of quality reviews. Also, planning and assisting in developing enhanced processes, resolving any escalated issues and concerns and perform team review and appraisals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Provide technical advice and feedback on reviews in compliance with regulations
Lead, train, manage and coach team members
Ability to communicate honest, direct feedback in a sincere and thoughtful manner with no fear of appropriate conflict
Plan and lead weekly staff meetings for residential appraisal staff
Advise MountainSeed’s Chief Appraiser or Appraisal Operations Director in designing residential valuation-review and procurement forms, processes and products and in the creation of new residential valuation-review products and services, ensuring compliance with regulations
Proactively resolve disputes and escalated issues related to the ordering or review of residential appraisals
Assist MountainSeed’s Chief Appraiser or Appraisal Operations Director in advising key personnel at MountainSeed’s financial-institution clients on regulatory and process issues related to residential valuations
Complete special projects as needed
Conduct quarterly and annual Team Performance reviews
Certified residential appraiser credential in good standing with at least one or more state
Additional state licenses a plus
Minimum 15 years of residential RE appraisal experience working with or for regulated financial institutions
Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications (i.e.: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable writing and grammar.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while ensuring a high level of accuracy and detail.
Demonstrated mastery of residential valuation methods, techniques and forms
Deep knowledge of, and experience working within, USPAP and the myriad laws, rules, regulations and guidelines governing the residential-valuation process at financial institutions, including the primary federal financial institution regulators’ regulations and guidelines, the key appraisal-related facets of federal consumer-protection legislation (such as those arising under TILA, RESPA and ECOA), state appraisal and appraisal-management-company statues and board rules, and the selling guidelines and related requirements imposed by Fannie, Freddie and other major secondary-mortgage-market participants
Strong working knowledge of, and experience with, residential valuation-related technology, including AVMs, technology-assisted residential review and underwriting systems and the Uniform Collateral Data Portal and related UAD formatting requirements
Leadership ability and proven experience managing a team
