The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has a position in Grand Junction, CO for a Real Estate/Valuation Specialist and for someone that is interested in training and mentoring to obtain their Certified General Appraiser license. One primary function of this position is providing property management for CDOT right-of-way (ROW), which includes maintaining an inventory of CDOT parcels, preparing market rent analyses, conducting title research/title work review, and preparing waiver valuations. The second primary function is to serve as a flexible appraisal team member who will initially support appraisal and related valuation work, and then develop into a Certified General Appraiser able to handle eminent domain appraisals.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university;
AND at least two years of experience in real estate abstracting/title work, right-of-way plan development, property management for a public entity, property appraisal, right-of-way negotiations, land acquisition, relocation or land surveying.
A current valid driver's license is required for this position as it requires operating a state or personal motor vehicle to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
Substitution: Additional work experience that provided the same kind, amount and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor's degree but not for the specific experience. A Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Public Administration, or a closely related degree may substitute for the bachelor's degree and one year of the specific experience.
