Due to our significant growth, we are currently seeking a Director to join our Columbus, Ohio office. This Practice Leader will spend the majority of their time managing, executing and delivering fair value analyses and reports for privately held and publicly traded clients, mentoring and training their local Financial Reporting team, educating Prairie’s team of more than 40 experienced investment bankers, advisors and appraisers on identifying fair value engagement opportunities within our existing client base and referral network, enhancing existing client and private equity group (“PEG”) relationships and lastly, look to develop new client/PEG relationships. Engagement types primarily include valuations for: purchase price allocations, portfolio and fund valuations, equity-based compensation, and indefinite and long-lived intangible asset impairment testing. Our Practice Leader will be the technical ‘champion’ for the Columbus office and expected to internally develop new models in compliance with the ever-changing industry wide best practices. Directors attend professional conferences, present at firm webinars and outside speaking engagements as well as actively participate in relevant professional organizations. Manage Financial Reporting project teams and timely execute multiple projects simultaneously across various industries
Work directly with senior level management, board members, shareholders and other trusted advisors throughout all phases of the engagement, leading discussions and due diligence meetings, presenting and justifying analysis to clients, boards, and other stakeholders as well as outside assurance and tax advisors
Train, mentor and develop Financial Reporting team members
Develop and review financial modeling and analyses encompassing complex capital structures to ensure quality control
Assist in the preparation and review of client deliverables including valuation reports, presentations and marketing materials
Communicate and establish relationships both internally with project teams and externally with clients and business partners
Develop business and establish productive referral channels
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/economics; CFA, ASA or other advanced degree and/or credential (CPA, MBA, or other master’s degree in Finance/Accounting) is preferred; CEIV and IA credentials or commanding knowledge of the Mandatory Performance Framework and highly integrated intangible asset valuation modelling is critical
Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience managing business valuation engagements, with at least 5 years focused on financial reporting projects
Ability to implement complex financial modelling with Monte Carlo simulations and binomial option pricing models
Demonstrated technical proficiency and aptitude for applying financial accounting, corporate finance, business analysis, and report writing to create and deliver valuation solutions to our clients
Expert in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; proficient in Excel-based applications for variable risk predictive modeling
Desire and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, mentoring staff, developing business and development and enhancement of our models
Strong communication, analytical and problem solving capabilities
Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage tight timelines in a team environment
Strong work ethic and personal integrity with the willingness to work long hours and travel when necessary
