Position Summary & Mission We are looking for a friendly and upbeat clinician who is willing to provide the introduction to Greater Lakes services to our clients through assessments. The Assessor position provides assessments, dependent on agency needs. This position is independently collaborative with a very social and engaged team. The Assessor team believes in the power of creating a meaningful and engaged workplace. They regularly have team lunches and potlucks together and work at creating an inspirational work environment for the whole team. Assessors perform diagnostic and functional assessments of individuals seeking services. They complete face-to-face clinical assessment of all scheduled and walk-in individuals seeking services at Greater Lakes and other locations as needed, within a one-hour time period. The Assessor team is the first face that our clients meet in their journey towards recovery. This role will assess for severity of clinical presentation and make appropriate decisions about clinical placement within the agency and/or referral to community providers and/or resources, following all post-intake and placement protocols. Establishes preliminary DSM-5 diagnosis as required for managed care purposes. Why work for Greater Lakes? Responsibilities Completes initial clinical assessments and intakes Recognizes clinical indicators of a crisis situation and refers as necessary to immediate crisis resources, both within and external. Establishes preliminary diagnosis as required for managed care purposes Completes thorough risk assessments Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policiesQualifications Qualified as a Mental Health Professional (Master's in Social Work, or Master's in field related to Counseling Psychology plus Associates credential (LMHCA).. Must be very familiar with the DSM -5 and skilled in completing accurate diagnoses. Knowledge of impact of medical issues and co-occurring disorders on functioning Through knowledge of clinical pathology and a broad range of psychosocial assessment and treatment approaches for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of community resources Experience working with the publicly-funded mental health system preferred Knowledge and experience working with the WA State Access to Care Criteria for adults preferred Knowledge of and experience in using Motivational Interviewing preferred
