The County of Ventura is accepting applications to fill one Board Member vacancy on Assessment Appeals Board No. 2 (AAB). The AAB is a quasi-judicial body which hears assessment appeals at a public hearing where evidence is submitted by both parties, the applicant or their authorized representative, and the Assessor’s Office. Evidence supports the applicant’s challenge of a property’s valuation or other determinations made by the Assessor’s Office. The AAB hearing process provides ‘equalization’, or fairness of the assessment of a property’s value of the property in question. Individuals with commercial property experience are highly desired.
