Faegre Drinker is actively recruiting a Real Estate Tax Manager to work with our Property Tax Team in our Indianapolis or Los Angeles office.
The Real Estate Tax Manager will collaborate with property tax attorneys and other practice group members to resolve state and local tax property tax issues through independent analysis of relevant assessment data, market data and property information and then formulate recommendations to supervising attorney for resolution of client’s property tax issue(s) in an organized and thorough manner.
The successful candidate will be expected to research and gather assessment and market data to evaluate real and personal property values, analyze proposed assessments, and interact in client meetings with supervising attorney to begin fact-gathering process.
Ideal candidates for this position should have a four-year degree in Business, Finance, or a related field and at least two years’ experience in real estate appraisal or assessment. Additional four years of experience may be substituted for degree. Candidates should also have the ability to understand and apply the cost, income, and comparative sales approaches of real estate appraisal. A current professional Assessor III designation in the State of Indiana or comparable certification/experience in another location and willingness to obtain Indiana designation within two years is a plus.

Ability to maintain regular attendance and work regularly scheduled hours.

Demonstrate ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
Ability to work effectively with co-workers in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position is $90,000 – $130,000.
Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location of where the position is filled and consistent with applicable law. The initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for attorneys, which includes, but is not limited to, productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
