My firm is looking for a commercial appraiser trainee, or an experienced / Certified General appraiser.
Our office is located on the north side of Atlanta, near I-85 and Clairmont Road. As a new hire, you will initially work in the office and then transition (if you can/want) into working part from the office and part from home. You will work and learn under my (Andy Sheppard) supervision, as well as collaborating with others in the office. You will have latitude to work from home or in the office after obtaining your Certified General license.
We frequently work on challenging appraisal assignments which can be research/data intensive, making them more involved than typical appraisal assignments. We are engaged to do appraisal work for some of the largest companies, cities, counties, states, and federal entities, generally performed outside of a typical lending-appraisal setting. We employ the most state-of-the-art processes and software in the industry to do our work.
We are looking for someone who is resourceful, proactive, and a "student of the game". You should be eager to learn, to learn from constructive criticism given, to be inspired to tackle and implement things like Artificial Intelligence, to lead within the office and to teach appraisers outside of the office, and to ultimately become a thought leader within the appraisal community.
Pass initial and ongoing drug tests. 21+. Possess a valid driver's license, and a functioning car with insurance. Good computer skills, including Word and Excel. Good written and verbal skills are a must. A college degree is required. A degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, or other fields is not a requirement; however, you may need to take classes later which will satisfy the role and education requirements for designation requirements of groups like the Appraisal Institute.
